The Venus Optics Laowa 10mm f/4.0 Cookie is an ultra-wide rectilinear pancake lens engineered for APS-C mirrorless cameras using the Sony E mount. Weighing only 130 g and measuring Ø59.8 x 25 mm, it delivers a compact form factor suited for travel, landscape, architecture, and street photography.
Wide Perspective and Low Distortion
With an expansive 109.3° angle of view, the lens captures wide scenes and tight indoor spaces. Its rectilinear optical design delivers ultra-low distortion, keeping horizontal and vertical straight lines intact across the image plane to reduce post-processing correction time.
Optical Design and Close Focusing
The optical configuration features 12 elements arranged in 8 groups, including 2 aspherical and 4 ultra-low dispersion elements to control flare and maintain edge-to-edge clarity. A close minimum focusing distance of 10 cm allows detailed foreground shooting, while a 5-blade aperture produces 10-point sunstars from pinpoint light sources.
Filter Thread and Compact Build
Unlike many compact pancake lenses, the Laowa 10mm f/4.0 Cookie incorporates a Ø37 mm front filter thread, allowing standard screw-in filters to be mounted directly without additional adapters.
