The Yongnuo YN 50 mm f/1.8 DF DSM is a fast full-frame prime lens engineered for cameras with the Sony E mount. Its classic 50 mm focal length combined with an f/1.8 maximum aperture delivers smooth background blur and strong performance in challenging low-light conditions.
Optical Design and Autofocus
The optical formula consists of 11 elements arranged in 8 groups, incorporating an aspherical element and an ultra-low dispersion lens to curb aberrations, along with nano-coatings to reduce flare. Autofocus is powered by a quiet, fast DSM stepping motor, complemented by a physical AF/MF switch on the lens barrel.
Build Quality and Control
Housed in an anodized aviation aluminum alloy body, the lens weighs just 395 grams. It features a durable metal bayonet with a rubber weather gasket, gold-plated electronic contacts for full EXIF data transmission, two customizable Fn buttons, and a USB-C interface for firmware updates.
