The Venus Optics Argus 33mm f/0.95 APO CF is a manual fixed-focal length prime lens designed for mirrorless cameras equipped with an APS-C sensor and Canon RF mount.
Optical Design and Construction
Its apochromatic optical design features 14 elements in 9 groups, incorporating 1 aspherical lens, 1 low dispersion glass element, and 3 high dispersion glass elements. This configuration suppresses chromatic aberration and distortion across the aperture range. The lens is built with a solid metal housing.
Fast f/0.95 Aperture and Bokeh
The ultra-bright f/0.95 maximum aperture facilitates shooting in low-light environments and produces a shallow depth of field. With a 9-blade aperture mechanism, the lens renders smooth, circular bokeh without harsh edges, making it suitable for portraits and night scenes.
Video-Centric Handling
Equipped with an internal focusing system, the lens maintains a constant overall length during focus adjustment, supporting a close minimum focusing distance of 35 cm. It also features a stepless aperture ring, minimal focus breathing, and a long focus throw for precise manual adjustment.
