The Venus Optics Argus 25 mm f/0.95 APO is a fast prime lens engineered for cameras with the Micro 4/3 mount. With a 46.7° field of view—equivalent to 50 mm on full-frame sensors—it provides a standard perspective suited for portrait and reportage photography.
Apochromatic Optics and Aperture
The apochromatic (APO) optical design minimizes chromatic aberration across the aperture range. Its construction consists of 13 elements in 14 groups, including 1 aspherical element, 1 ED glass element, and 3 UHR glass elements. The ultra-fast f/0.95 aperture facilitates shooting in low light conditions, while the 9-blade diaphragm yields smooth, circular background blur.
Internal Focusing and Video Features
Constructed with a sturdy metal housing, the lens utilizes an internal focusing mechanism that maintains a constant barrel length and enhances dust resistance during operation.
- 270° focus ring throw for precise manual focus adjustment;
- Minimum focusing distance of 25 cm with a 0.17:1 reproduction scale;
- Stepless aperture ring tailored for smooth exposure adjustments in filmmaking;
- Low focus breathing to reduce angle-of-view shifts during racking focus;
- Ø62 mm front filter thread for attaching filters and sun hoods.
