The Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X Ultra Macro is a dedicated close-up lens engineered for full-frame Nikon Z mount mirrorless cameras, designed specifically for photographing subjects at greater than life-size scale.
Extended 2.5:1 to 5:1 Magnification
Operating exclusively in a 2.5:1 to 5:1 magnification range, this lens achieves up to 5x magnification. The minimum focusing distance measures 17.3 cm at 5:1 with a working distance of 40 mm (1.6″), and 23.4 cm at 2.5:1 with a 45 mm working distance, giving sufficient clearance for lighting.
Optical Design and Manual Control
The optical system features 8 elements in 6 groups, including an extra-low dispersion element to minimize chromatic aberrations and color fringing. A wide-angle layout delivers greater depth of field than longer telephoto macro designs, while manual focus operation ensures precise control over focal positioning.
Compact and Lightweight Barrel
Measuring 82 x 65 mm and weighing 400 g, the slender lens barrel reduces shadowing on subjects and provides portability for field photography.
