The Laowa 17mm f/1.8 MFT is a compact, lightweight prime lens designed for Micro Four Thirds system cameras, suitable for street, travel, everyday photography, and video recording.
Optical Design and Fast Aperture
With an angle of view of 65° (equivalent to 34mm on a full-frame sensor) and an ultra-fast f/1.8 maximum aperture, this lens performs reliably in varied lighting conditions. The optical formula consists of nine elements in seven groups, including one Super ED element that helps control flare and ghosting. A rounded 7-blade diaphragm produces smooth bokeh and a traditional sunstar rendering in out-of-focus highlights.
Close Focusing and Handling
A minimum focusing distance of 15cm (5.9") supports close-up and mini-macro shooting with distinct subject separation. Operating via manual focus, the lens incorporates a 46mm filter thread and weighs just 172g, making it practical for handheld shooting and gimbal setups.
