The Laowa 15mm T2.1 Zero-D Cine is a fast, ultra-wide cine prime lens designed for Sony E-mount cameras. Built to cover full-frame (35mm) and VistaVision sensors, it delivers an expansive 110° angle of view with close to zero optical distortion.
Optical Design and Zero-D Technology
The lens features 12 elements arranged in 9 groups, incorporating two aspherical lenses and three extra-low dispersion glass elements to control chromatic and spherical aberrations. The Zero-D design maintains straight lines across the frame, making it suitable for architectural, landscape, and aerial cinematography. A Frog Eye Coating protects the front element against dust and moisture.
Cinema-Ready Build
Designed specifically for video productions, the cine version includes standard 0.8 mod gears on both the focus and aperture rings:
- Stepless, silent aperture ring adjustable from T/2.1 to T/22;
- Minimum focusing distance of 15 cm with a 1:4 reproduction ratio;
- 77 mm front filter thread compatible with standard circular filters;
- Compact 540 g build suited for handheld work and gimbal setups.
